Flow Sensor designed for flow and volume monitoring in Pulmonary Ventilators, CPAP, BIPAP, and Non Invasive Ventilators that allows proximal or distal measurements. It is available for three ranges of flow
The flow sensor can be easily coupled to any ventilator and it requires two pressure transducers. This allows real time patient ventilation monitoring and the parameters that can be measured are:
Flow x Time Curve ;
Volume x time Curve;;
Pressure x Time Curve;
Volume x Pressure Loop;
Flow x Volume Loop;
Airway Resistence (Raw) ;
Static Pulmonary Compiance (Csta)
Dynamic Pulmonary Compliance (Cdyn);
Peak Pressure;
Plateau Pressure;
PEEP / CPAP;
Mean Pressure;
Minute Volume;
Tidal Volume;
Respiration Rate;
Inspiratory Time;
Expiratory Time;
I:E Ratio;
Work of Breathing;
P0.1;
Tobin Index
It also can be used internally to a ventilator pneumatics in order to control the inspiratory and expiratory flow.
Another important application is for continuous flow measurements to determine the correct time to swap from inspiratory phase to expiratory phase in Pressure Support Ventilation (PSV).
